What is a Short Sale?
A short sale is when the owner of a property owes more than what his home is worth. Without a short sale the seller of the property would have to come to the closing with cash to make up the shortage. In today's economy that rarely happens. Most times, the seller negotiates with the lender to accept a "short" payoff. The lender settles for less than what is owed and agrees to release the lien on the property so that it can be sold.

What is wrong with everybody? Has all common sense left the people of this country? We are clearly in the middle of the Perfect Storm for bad news. Economy is in a recession, housing prices won’t stop falling, people are losing their jobs and most importantly people are afraid to spend money.

This is my last chance to let you all know how proud we are here in Bergen County of the New York Giants! Super Bowl XLII is only hours away. I was hoping for this matchup December 29th. The Patriots were coming to New Jersey and I was predicting a Super Bowl Preview. People commented that there really was no chance. We lost a close game that night, but played well. The following week we went to Tampa Bay (we were supposed to lose on the Road) but we won again. We moved on to Dallas again no chance at winning. … (3 comments)

While the markets may be on sharper declines in other parts of the country. The Bergen County Area Real Estate Market is still viable. People in this area are still buying and selling.
