My Dad - approaching the sunset of his days - 02/25/12 12:07 PM

I get the call frequently. "He is asking me who is winning. He thinks we are playing cards, but we are eating dinner. I don't know what to tell him."
It's my Mom. She's not sure the right thing to say to my 89 year old Dad to calm him down. Do you play into his delusions, or correct them? We opt for commpassionate fibbing. ""Yeah, Daddio... you're winning this hand. Good job!"
It's hard to reconcile the shrunken 135 pound frame I see with the vibrant, burly, hilarious, loving, involved Dad I've had for 60 years.
