Will Short Sales Meet the 2010 Federal Tax Deadlines?
Will home buyers be added to the list of consumers suffering financial harm because of the actions of soulless Big Banks and major lenders?  I am concerned because this may be the last shot first time home buyers have at the $8,000 federal tax credit.


What deadlines?
Home buyers must be under contract by April 30, 2010 and then close in 90 days.  From IRS.gov

My sister-in-law, Dani English, did a great thing for my husbands family this past Christmas.  She hired a professional photographer friend of hers, Nikki Haslett, to take photos of the whole family.  It took a couple of hours but we now have photos of my husband Tim's parents, family shots of the Tim. Mark and Paul English families AND individual shots of each grandchild (8 of them).  Plus we have shots of the family in various combinations and all kinds of poses.

The Feds discount rate move not unanticipated but the timing was a surprise.  The rate was increased from 0.5% to 0.75%.  This is the emergency rate charged to banks when they are in trouble.  It is really more of a signaling device of future Federal Reserve Bank moves.  However it does represent a tightening of the stimulus measures used to unlock the sluggish national economy.

The new Tucker library has opened at the corner of LaVista Road and Lawrenceville Highway (US 29).  The new facility is amazing.  The interior is very open and well laid out.  There is lots of light from the wall of glass along the LaVista Road side of the facility.  There are neat sitting areas and lots of whistles and bells.  I thought the old facility was adequate but will confess the new building was well designed.

Did you move to DeKalb County last year?  If yes, you need to get moving and file a DeKalb County Homestead Exemption Appkication before the Marsh 1st deadline.
If you do not file a DeKalb COunty Homestead Exemption Application you will pay as much as twice the amount of tax as other residents of DeKalb County.  That's a huge penalty to pay for missing a deadline!!!
