My Active Rain Associate, Charita Cadenhead in Birmingham Alabama has written a great post about how some real estate agents take over priced listings.  The problem is that the sellers thought the real estate agent had agreed with the price they thought was right for their home.  By accepting the listing, the sellers thought the real estate agent was on board with the pricing.  
WRONG.  The agent took the overpriced listing so they could beat down the sellers on the price later in the process and take advantage of their trusting client.

Water Main Break on Henderson Mill Road - 03/23/12 10:40 AM
DeKalb County Water and Sewer Department is actively repairing a water main break in the middle of Henderson Mill Road.  Friday March 23rd at 1;30 pm.  Tafic is moving fine now uti could bea prblem at rush hour.  Also, check with DeKalb COunt for boil water advsories.  Tis is a large reak and a lo of waer is escaping the system.

Owners Must Register Vacant Properties in City of Atlanta - 03/22/12 05:29 AM
Here is one more thing for home sellers to deal with.  If your house has been vacant for more than 30 days, you must register it with the City of Atlanta.  The excerpts below will give you directions  This legislation was probably intended to take care of some of the foreclosure problems we are having but it also applies to conscientious home owners who have moved out because of relocation etc.

DeKalb Board of Realtors Awards Luncheon: Sally Wins Again - 03/15/12 04:58 PM
The annual DeKalb Board of Realtors Pinnacle awards luncheon was held Wednesday March 14, 2012 and Sally English once again took home an award.  Sally was the number 5 top producing single Realtor in the DeKalb Board  based on 34 real estate transactions in 2011.
Sally also qualified as a Silver Phoenix Award winner based on qualifying for the Pinnacle Awards for 24 years.
A total of 6 members of Realty Associates of Atlanta won major awards and Realty Associates of Atlanta produced 28 Pinnacle Award qualifiers, the most of any DeKalb Board of Realtors Brokerage.

It occurred to me yesterday that Decatur has reached a new zenith in it's status as the dining destination .in Atlanta Georgia,  I have long touted Decatur's many dining options and have been a frequent diner at many of the lovely restaurants that line the streets around the Courthouse.  But it was a personal milestone that awakened me to exactly how I feel about Decatur as "The" Atlanta" dining destination.
