As you know, the Eastern Extension of The President George Bush Turnpike (toll road) is OPEN and boy is it fabulous! But if for some reason you're still not sure where this NTTA Extension is, the 9.9 mile Eastern Extension of the PGB Turnpike is between State Highway 78 & Interstate 30. That's right, the $958 million dollar extension project that began in August 2008, will open on time! This new 10 mile, 6 Enterance Ramp extension will allow people to drive from northwest Garland (hwy 78) to Interstate 30. Bye-Bye Winter ... Spring is here! In case you haven't noticed, humans aren't the only ones who are glad to see winter go. ANTS & other INSECTS are also drawn to this warmer weather, especially in Texas, and are coming out in droves ... or at least it seems like they are. Wow, Habitat for Humanity has a "ReStore" store in Garland, just south of Lake Ray Hubbard. Yesterday was my 1st time time there and I must admit I was blown away with all the amazing items they had. Before yesterday, I had driven past it on I-30 everyday to and from my home in Rowlett. I always said ... I wonder whats in there? My step-dad used to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and help build houses but I'd never heard him mention them having a store. Okay, so we all know that it's a MUST to have clean fresh carpets if you're getting your house market-ready to sell and it's definetly something all buyers look for. Although I'm personally not doing either, I did like most people, survive the holiday invasion of family and friends ... however, our cream colored carpet wasn't so lucky! We found a few wine drops & chocolate spots along with the foot traffic that had built up.
