We went for a really nice fall bike ride on the Kokosing Gap Trail in Knox County Ohio. This bike ride starts in Mount Vernon, Ohio through Gambier, Ohio along the Kenyon College Campus and we even ride through the historic stone curved tunnel in Howard, Ohio. As part of our daily series "365 Things To Do in Knox County Ohio" I visited Kent's Ice Cream Station in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Today is April 15th and I had just wrote those dreaded checks to the IRS and I needed something to help cool me off and a visit to the Ice Cream Station was just what I needed. Knox County Ohio is a truly remarkable community that is filled with amenities and attractions that are rarely found in counties with populations twice it's size. The Mount Vernon Hiawatha Water Park is an ideal place to cool off during the summer months. As part of our 365 Things To Do in Knox County Ohio series we visited Foundation Park in Mount Vernon, Ohio. This is one of the newest community park attractions in Knox County Ohio and it is a spectacular fishing spot. As part of our 365 Things To Do in Knox County Ohio we highlighted a great place to fly kites in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The open field next to the Mount Vernon High School baseball fields and soccer fields are the ideal locations because there are no trees or nearly power lines. There is a great place to launch your kite and if you need to set it down quickly there is plenty of space. Mount Vernon Ohio's First Friday Cruise In Our Mount Vernon Ohio local downtown merchants association works closely with our community for events that bring special events and shoppers into our historical downtown. Tonight was our First Friday event and we had wonderful 90 degree temperatures, clear blue sky and a wonderful turnout of both people and cars. Cars ranged from 32 Ford Roadsters, Pro Street Chevy II, a Blown Impala, 55 Chevy 210, a canyon carving 1969 Camaro, an assortment of custom and Pro Street trucks.
