college station homes: Value in the Act of Blogging - 08/15/10 03:17 AM
Dear readers,Many times the act of doing something is worth more than the end product. I think we see this in many areas.
Yesterday I wrote a short post from the National Diving Championships being held here at Texas A&M University. In fact, I received a little flak because the blog didn't directly speak about a property for sale.
While sitting in the crowd with my Netbook on my lap, tapping away, another spectator asked what I was doing. I quickly explained I was writing a quick blog about the event and explained what Active Rain was. I also gave him … (3 comments)

college station homes: Google Analytics - 06/08/10 12:29 AM

Good morning,
Besides working in real estate, I'm a technology consultant for several groups, including a large state agency. Yesterday I was asked whether it was worth it to go to the trouble of putting analytic code on landing and conversion pages.
This particular query concerned a foreign language facebook ad targeted at Spanish speaking firefighters all over the globe. So, I rattled off many of the things that google analytics tells us:
Where they came from and where they went How long they were on each page Their operating system Their browser Their mobile status and geographic location Their … (6 comments)

The direct local impact of Texas A&M and system affiliates was $1.4 billion. The "multiplier effect," how many times a dollar is spent and re-spent, raises the number to $3.5 billion. The rise was attributed to current construction, research, an increased visitor presence, and a record student enrollment of 48,702 in 2009.
According to a press release, "The annualized average payroll for … (1 comments)

college station homes: Spring Staging Tips for your Bryan College Station Home - 03/20/10 02:31 AM
Dear readers,It's spring, and many folks are getting ready to put properties on the market. I spent some time with our team's staging expert yesterday and walked away with these tips:
Learn from others - Visit model homes and open houses that are professionally staged in your community. No reason to re-invent the wheel. Walk through your home as a buyer might. Begin at the curb and follow a typical route for buyers. Pay careful attention to the area around the front door, where buyers will wait while the selling agent gets the door unlocked. De-clutter, declutter, declutter. Remove at least … (1 comments)

college station homes: Spring Break in College Station, Texas - 03/12/10 06:16 AM
Hi Everyone,Zuni, the Real Estate Dog, and I just made a run to Whataburger and discovered the 2010 Spring Break exodus from College Station has begun. Texas & University is backed-up several blocks and there are a long line of cars on SH-6 (going both ways).Back in my day, the mid-1980's, we'd usually stay in town over spring break, knowing the beach was still cold and the mountains too crowded. We'd spend our days at Coulter Field, jumping out of airplanes and our evenings at La Taqueria and Fajita Rita's. Bryan College Station is a more relaxing place with part of … (0 comments)
