Stoney Creek Ranch in New Ulm, Texas ~ - 06/28/09 08:17 PM
Stoney Creek Ranch, New Ulm, Texas
Last week we dropped off the kids for their first every week long camp.  It was in New Ulm, Texas.  Err, I had to look that one up.  About 2 hours west of Houston if that helps!
It's beautiful, filled with pine trees, the air is crisp and clean.
We pulled into the big impressive gates and were greated by counselors that asked if they could take the boys' bags.  Huh?  I looked at my kids and said, "when I went to camp, we had to drag our overpacked bags to … (2 comments)

Habits that will help me take my business to the next level.
Last weeks' assignment was to:  plan my week and stick to it.  Well, I planned the week (hey, make appointments in your calendar of the things that you KNOW need to get done)...doing them was another … (9 comments)

Adobe Verde Restaurant, Gruene, Texas ~ A Review - 06/20/09 10:04 AM
Adobe Verde Restaurant, Gruene, Texas ~ A  Review
I came home yesterday after yet another LONG day at the office.  All of my boys were showered, dressed and waiting for me on the coach HUNGRY!  When I say dressed I'm not saying t-shirts and jean shorts I'm talking about starched khaki shorts and pressed Hawaiian shirts....Oh, it makes a Mothers' heart proud to see her boys looking good (ladies, I know you can relate).
So we tumbled into the car and drove to Gruene, Texas (oh, like 4 minutes from my house) and went to the Adobe Verde.  … (3 comments)

Matt Stigliano, Kristin Moran and Pat O'Brien all in the same room! An A/R sighting! - 06/19/09 06:07 PM
So, it all starts innocent enough.
Our Board of REALTORS is hosting a Town Hall Meeting.
Our office discussed attending together because the presentation was given by KGBTexas and the topic was Social Media.
I was very curious to see just how involved our Board was and it's members!
My group sits in the back and I notice one guy to my right very busy on his phone (okay...we are talking very busy, like he's having serious conversation) or as I found out later, very busy tweeting!  Well, what do you know I recognize this guy...he's non … (12 comments)

I signed up for a class that will span the next 9 weeks.
Yes, making a commitment in the middle of my busy summer was something that I had to think long and hard about.  But in the end I know that even if I learn to change my habits then I WILL have better results from my performance.
I thought what a better way then to do a diary of my experiences through this class...
so, thanks for joining me.
Today started unassuming enough.  There are six people in my class (either you will like it because … (12 comments)

FACEBOOK URL's...Vanity or smart? You decide~ - 06/14/09 11:08 AM
So, this past Friday night we were all up late!  At about 10:30 we started talking about it.  What is it that I'm talking about?  The new FACEBOOK personal URL's.
I was so excited (geez, it's obvious that I didn't have BIG plans Friday night!) that they were going to implement the URL's cause I thought it was an easier way for people to find each other online.
I've had a few instances were I went to go search for someone and I couldn't find them cause I didn't put their name is JUST as it's entered.  Let's take my … (3 comments)

Tell me what is wrong with this picture? - 06/12/09 03:51 PM
Okay...so, I'm on my way to work.
I come up to the intersection and see what is HOLDING BACK ALL OF THE TRAFFIC.  Normally I would have thought that it would have been 1 construction guy doing the work while oh, let's say 1/2 dozen WATCH him!
But, this is what I come across the other morning...
you tell me what is wrong with this picture!

Is New Braunfels, Texas resisting change and growth? ~ - 06/08/09 07:30 PM
Has New Braunfels been fighting change and growth?
Everyone knows that right now (yes, it's grown in leaps and bounds), but that it's (New Braunfels) still has that "quaint" old town feel from the town square, seeing neighbors at the grocery store, to floating the river on a lazy Sunday.
A recent article in the Express News shows the struggle that New Braunfels is having with growth.  Read the article here: http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/state/New_Braunfels_is_planning_anew.html
It seems that New Braunfels is seriously fighting change so it doesn't turn into San Antonio with the outer loop.
One questions posed was did San Antonio change because … (9 comments)

Preforeclosure? Unsure of your options? Ask a Certified Distressed Property Expert. - 06/08/09 05:57 PM
Think your situation is getting worse?  Have you stopped opening the mail? or dread opening the mail?  I promise you sticking your head in the sand won't make it go away.  But there is help out there for you.
There is an alternative to having your house go into foreclosure and having your credit banged up for the next 7+ years.  It's called a short sale.
Basically, if you can show hardship to your lender you can ask the Lender to accept a short sale.  This is a sale that would close at or below market value (depending upon your … (5 comments)

Second Homes: San Antonio's urban "oasis" ~ - 06/05/09 03:13 PM
Second homes:  San Antonio's urban "oasis"
This is one of the great reasons that I love it in San Antonio!
We have such great culture, architecture, historic places to see and many things to do.
A friend of mine found this article in USA Today that talks about how awesome San Antonio is as a second home market!
What does that say: That people pick San Antonio over many other cities to come visit, shop, golf among many other things!
 Read the article here.

Thankful Thursday - 06/04/09 10:19 PM
Thankful Thursday
Today I'm thankful for my husband.
Thankful for him and all that he does for the boys and I.  Thankful for the things that he does to make my life a little easier.
This list could go on and on, but I know that he would be embarassed by my bragging... so, I'll stop here.

Thank you, honey.

This is him learning how to surf for the first time, age 42.

Living a life with no regrets~ - 06/04/09 03:48 PM
life I went to a great class this morning.  It was hosted by Cornerstone Mortgage and I was invited by Scott Cummins my fabulous mortgage guy!
The class was actually taught by Steve Scanlon with Building Champions.  He talked about making a life plan.
A what?
Yes, a life plan.
Now, I have a
business plan
a diet plan
and definitely need an exercise plan...
But a LIFE PLAN?   What an idea.
The concept is that if you don't have a life plan you technically don't know where you will end up.  Think of it … (10 comments)

An Active Rain Sighting ~ - 06/03/09 05:16 PM
Recently I had met the beautiful and talented Melody Salazar  (when she came to help me with color selects for my home).

Well, we saw each other again at the New Braunfels Wine Tasting Fundraiser.
It was at the Gruene River Grill in Gruene, Texas.  They had it in their back room and had an assortment of wines to choose from and had some great appetizers.
As you can see from the photos Melody and I were very busy chatting it up and LISTENING to everyone.  It's fun when you see someone that you know from Active Rain.

There is a new Chuy's in Town! Restaurant Review - 06/01/09 06:07 PM
This place is so much fun.  It's lively, normally packed, the food is good and the margarita's are even better.
There was only one Chuy'sin town and it was located in 281North near 1604.
Well, a new one is in town (close to me, yippee!) on 35N across the street from the Forum Shopping Center.
You might have to wait for a table, but they have great outside setting in their courtyard or in their bar area which has ample tables and chairs.
The menu is very different from regular mexican food.  Some items definately have a twist … (15 comments)
