I found this great article on the HGTV (Canada) site, by Benjamin Moore color expert Jane Lockhart.  It is entitled "How to Paint Just About Anything" and includes tips for painting surfaces like tile, panelling, laminates etc.  Good to know for those quick fixes when staging a home.
