Fontana Lake in the Smokey Mountains - 05/15/09 05:44 PM
We took a trip last weekend to our mountain house. It is located close to the back waters of Fontana Lake, nestled in the Smokey Mountains. It is about 24 miles past Bryson City on highway 28. This is a beautiful shot of the rail roal tussle. The Smokey Mountain Railway offers train trips and one of them actually goes over this tussle. My Grandparents were actually re-located when the lake was being built, along with all of my other relatives that lived in the area. The little community where they lived, and is now under water was called Japan. The … (14 comments)

Are You Planning on Flying Soon? Better Check the New Enhanced ID Requirements or You Might Not Get On The Plane! - 05/14/09 06:15 PM
Better read this blog post before you plan to purchased any airline tickets.
Via Mike Saunders (Keller Williams Realty - Greater Athens):
Do you have a middle name? Is it on your government issued ID? If so, it must also be on your ticket. As of May 15, the TSA apparently has new identification rules. Your ticket and your government ID must have identical names on them. That is, if your ID has John Joseph Smith, your ticket must read John Joseph Smith, not John Smith or John J Smith.
Not only that, you cannot have suffixes like Jr. or III nor can … (0 comments)

Danny Went Home From American Idol - 05/13/09 11:18 PM
I absolutely cannot believe that Danny went home. Danny has never even been in the bottom three. It must have been has song choices from last night. Danny is so talented and has such a beautiful voice and such an incredible range and can sing and song choice that they throw out at him.
We really thought that Chris would go home. Chris is a good singer but he seems to me to be a weaker singer than Danny and Adam. Of course, who knows Chris could be the next American Idol. I guess we will jus thave to watch and see.

Who Will It Be? - 05/13/09 08:03 PM
Who will be going home tonight on American Idol. I can hardly wait to see. Adam is my personal favorite, he is so talented and has such a tremendous vocal range. Danny is also very talented and has a very good voice. Chris is talented, but in my opinion not as much range and voice as the other two. In just a little but we will have the answer for this week.
I started watching American Idol because it made for good general conversation, then I got hooked and have watched it ever since.
Well it's on and we will see … (0 comments)

Humpy Dumpty Had A Great Fall - 05/13/09 05:55 PM
In all of my years in this crazy real estate business, I have seen many things, including a sink hole under a house. But never ever have I seen kitchen cabinets just fall off of the wall. These cabinets were made by a good cabinet maker and after about 12 years they just pulled loose from the wall. Has anyone else ever seen this before? … (27 comments)

Sandy Childs has Pneumonia - 05/09/09 02:05 AM
Well, they say that you can't keep a good woman down, put sometimes, we over do, don't take care of ourselves, because we are too busy taking care of everyone else and wham. We find our selves sick. It is so hard for me to stay in the house and rest. I want to get out and about and really want to sell real estate. I am so used to being with people, not stuck at home. I want to take more pictures and change all of the virtual tours and hold open houses and all of that stuff! At least I … (12 comments)

Are you working on this Certification? - 05/07/09 11:57 AM
Which certifications do agents need to sell distressed properties?
Via Steven Wright~Home Real Estate~720-989-5283 (Home Real Estate):
Ok, I am officially back in the blogging saddle again. I am not going to get booted off this time. This time I glued myself to the seat so I can't be bucked off.
This year is my year to get some serious certifications completed. Are any of you feeling the way I am feeling about certifications? I really feel that certifications give me a great refresher and in addition to that helps boost my resume if you will. When I was in IT I was … (0 comments)

The Perfect LockBox - 05/07/09 11:41 AM

It there a perfect lockbox? Are the electronic lockboxes, that store all entry information the highest and best that we can offer to the seller. Personally I think so. They are also easier to use for several reasons. First you don't have multiple codes to deal with. Secondly, there is no way anyone but a licensed agent with an electronic key can enter the property. Third, they are easier to put back together and less likely to have the key lost or misplaced. Although, the electronic lockbox is not without its' problems. Sometimes they mis-function. If the box is in … (4 comments)

South Carolina Stops Foreclosures - 05/05/09 05:20 PM

Breaking news from Columbia, South Carolina,  it's even on the 6 o'clock news! An injunction to temporarily stop foreclosures in South Carolina has been filed, this is supposed to allow home owner's who are in trouble to take advantage of the administration's modification program while they are still in the home. The details are sketchy at this time and we don't have any specifics and so far South Carolina is the only state to take this kind of action on foreclosures according to the news. I have contacted several local lenders to try to get more details and will give … (1 comments)

Rain In Carolina - 05/04/09 10:01 PM

Today in the Upstate of South Carolina, in Spartanburg, we got some much needed rain. Last year we were in a drought situation. We were actually under water restrictions. If you were caught watering your yard, washing your car or anything else outside you could be fined. Many homeowners were fined. After the fourth fine, then they cut off your water. Water is something that we really take for granted ~ until we don't have a plentiful supply. … (6 comments)

Chatty Childs Can Chat - 05/03/09 11:46 PM

OK Chatty Childs is chatting away again. It was very hard to loose the voice. I thought I was going to explode several times. I have an opinion about everything and I hardly keep it to myself. I have been asked if my husband paid someone to take away my voice. I think that he really enjoyed the quiet. But I'm back and chatting away, both on the phone and on the internet. … (10 comments)
