Did you know that I have watched at least 3 or 4 planes land on Lake Norman the past few years? It happens quite a bit actually! Just last summer, the Red Bull Sea Plane did many landings and take-offs while taking pictures at the big "tie-ups" near the Sand Bar. It was such an amazing thing to see. I love it when the Chicago River and Savannah River turn the rivers green with dye. They use the dye that is normally used to find leaks in the sewer and water systems. At one time, equity skimming was known as a type of fraud that consists of swindling homeowners out of their equity--usually when they were already in trouble (in default). 
Now, it's happening in a new way--especially with the amount of short sales and foreclosures in our neighborhoods...Has it mutated?  Now, homeowners in trouble are renting their properties to tenants, collecting the rent and not paying the mortgage.  Alas, equity skimming!

This is a picture that I took yesterday (March 9, 2009) on Lake Norman. The water was so blue and the trees are starting to come out with the recent 70-80 degree weather.
