The original village of Dupont, next to the Northwest Landing development, was originally housing for Dupont munitions factory workers. On November 6th, the people of Washington will have the opportunity to vote on EHJR 4204, the constitutional amendment which will change the requirements for school levy passage from a super majority to a simple majority. I've seen the ad campaign on TV that argues that only a simple majority is required (4 comments)

The City of Olympia has a wonderful urban forestry program called NeighborWoods. The goal is to have more tree lines streets, which add more appeal, provide shade and habitat. In exchange for planting and caring for the trees (watering, pruning, mulching), the city provides the trees for free. The only prerequisites are (3 comments)

The 2007 Lacey Military Family Support March, sponsored by the Hawks Prairie Rotary Club had a record turn-out with over 2000 people attending. The event is in its 5th year and has raised a total of over $200,000. Not everybody would be able to clearly decode the following message: "I'm a NCO at USAREUR and due to ETS next spring. My DEROS is in March.
