The Florida Association of Realtors is reporting that home sales in Florida increased in December 2008. 11,053 homes were sold, which was an increase of 27%, over December 2007 at 8,712 homes sold statewide. December was the fourth month in a row that the number of homes sold increased. In December 2007 median sales prices on existing homes was $213,600. In December 2008 the figure dropped to $155,500, a 27% decrease. This is positive news for homes buyers in the market. In addition, mortgage interest rates have dropped from 2007 to 2008. Oh, how we have grown so dependent on all of our technological gadgets. They're great when they work, but when they don't, often times in makes our world come to a screeching halt. Yesterday, we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Government offices were closed and schools were not in session. My internet access worked fine in the morning...no problems. I'm always looking for the least expensive gasoline that I can find. Prices here in Melbourne Florida have remained consistently above the $3.50 for sometime now. And many have been very close to $4.00 a gallon. Over the past several weeks I have seen a gradual decline in prices. I know that oil prices have been dropping. I also know that we have a presidential election in less than 20 days. This is the cheapest gasoline I have seen anywhere in our area.
