You can go up, but you can't come down. - 06/26/11 07:26 PM
Some of us sellers still hold the selling philosophy to put a higher list price on the property than we think we will get, because ‘we can always come down but we can't go up.'Here are a couple of thoughts on that reasoning: 1, Yes, maybe that worked several years ago but I am not sure it works now. When John and I bought our first home, and even our present home, the internet did not exist, and we depended upon our Realtor or the newspaper to find properties. Our exposure to properties was limited, compared to today's market and buyer's options.

Divorce Advocate - 06/04/11 11:18 AM
Robin Scott in Texas has blogged below about helping the divorcing client to buy or sell a home. I was in a mastermind session yesterday with other Realtors, and we were brainstorming about problems clients have which need help and solutions. One Realtor is specializing in helping divorcing clients, as she herself is divorced. She said that this is a huge group which needs guidance in real estate, and I believe her.She said, for instance, that it may be commonly thought that the spouse who works at home should get the house, so that the children don't have to be uprooted. First Time Homebuyers' Class--Have you recently changed your agenda? - 06/02/11 03:12 PM
We all know that there are tons of recent changes in the home buying process. Do you teach a first time home buyer's class, and have you recently added material, OR, taken out material that is no longer pertinent? What outline of information do you cover? I am revamping our class and would love your ideas. Sarah

I like to share insights about real estate, but we also like to write about life outside of real estate. We also love to read the wisdom and inspiration of others.
Nashville TN is an exciting city with many types of restaurants, several colleges and universities, and many styles and prices of housing. We love living and working in Nashville, and invite you to email or phone us with questions about living in the area, or just to talk about your future plans.
We have a diverse clientele; some are investors who want to buy more properties; some are investors who want to sell their portfolio; some are seniors who want to downsize; some are relocating executives who need a spacious home for entertaining and living comfortably. We have bank customers whose foreclosure & REO properties we list and sell.
We never rush our clients to make a decision, as we work on your schedule, not ours. We can refer you to private lenders, mortgage lenders, and other vendors in the area. And, of course, we never accept a fee for referral to a vendor or lender. Even though vendors come highly recommended to us, or we have had personal experience with their work, you should always interview them and get other references and come to your own comfort level with them.
Our work helps support Founding Family Charitable Foundation, a 501-C-3 nonprofit.
