Charlotte has many 4th of July events spread throughout the entire city. Every event has different things for everyone, from the Charlotte Symphony to The Charlotte Knights baseball team. The Charlotte Symphony will be performing at Southpark and will be playing good old fashioned patriotic tunes. WBT will be having a Skyshow at Charlotte Knights Stadium after the game. Also the Whitewater Center will be having live music starting at 4pm and a firework show starting at nightfall. This Sunday, which is Memorial Day, The US National Whitewater Center is holding an event with live music and fireworks! The performing artists will be: Chasing Edison, The Black Lillies, and OTIS TAYLOR! That's right, Otis Taylor, the great blues musician from Chicago is going to be performing at the Whitewater Center. What's the best part? Admission is FREE not only do people love music, but they love it when its live and free. This non-profit organization was established to help grieving parents over the death of a child. It was started in 1978 and has been there to help with the strong emotions and mourning over the tragedy of child loss. The organization is having their 8th annual "Hope Floats Duck Race" at the White Water Center. This is essentially a race of rubber ducks down whitewater rapids to see who will win a grand prize of $2,500.
