The Sarasota Board of Realtors issued a press release on May 23 indicating month over month improvement in Sarasota's real estate market continuing what looks like a trend.

Statistics pulled from the Sarasota MLS system reported overall property sales in the local market for April 2008. American Idol contestants returned to their hometowns on Friday. Crowds gathered in Tampa, Bradenton and Sarasota to see our American Idol: Syesha Mercado. Syesha blitzed through interviews, radio shows, visits to Bradenton High School where she graduated and sang at multiple concerts including one at the Ringling Museum's waterfront Ca d'Zan Mansion. Sarasota is pulling for Syesha Mercado on Tuesday night as one of the final three contestants on American Idol.

Sales of Sarasota Florida Homes Total 500

The Sarasota Board of Realtors issued a press release on April 22 indicating even more improvement in Sarasota's real estate market

Statistics pulled from the MLS system reported overall property sales in the local market for March 2008 topped 500 for the first time in eight months. March property sales totaled 514 and easily beat February 2008 Sarasota property sales of 423.

Sarasota single family homes sold totaled 344 in March 2008 and 170 condos were sold. In February, 294 single family homes sold and 129 condominiums.

A small decline of 6.3 percent in the median sale price for single family homes was reported. Median prices of condos rose slightly from $230,500 in February 2008 to $235,000 in March 2008 weakness."

Their destination was New Orleans, and they stopped by Clarksdale for the festival. One couple was from Atlanta and the other was a realtor, Greg Lemke and his lovely wife from Hendersonville, North Carolina. Of course, I had a few business cards left after handing out to the blues world and Greg and I promised to keep each other in mind for referral business. Hendersonville is a hot spot and so is Sarasota and you never know!
