nw airlines: Northwest Airlines Customer Service lacks Customer Service

Recently, I traveled on Northwest Airlines to Washington, DC for a 30th high school reunion. The night before I traveled, I called about getting exit row seats as I am tall (5'9") and my back has problems occasionally that are aggravated by the cramped seats in the other rows. The gentleman I spoke with told me that I had to do it online, which I did, and I was charged $45 ($20 for one flight that lasted about 50 minutes, and $25 for a longer flight, about 1-1/2 hours). However, on BOTH FLIGHTS, there were seats available in the exit rows (4 comments)
