tacoma: Maybe you can go home again.... - 09/23/12 10:49 AM

Many years ago I told my parents "As soon as I graduate from high school I am out of here. I can't stand living in Tacoma!" I also said "I could never imagine having kids!"

For many years I did just that. I lived in Seattle and I worked at a variety of jobs that I allowed to suck the marrow out of my bones. The one good thing was that I was lucky enough to be a dad to two fantastic … (30 comments)

tacoma: Friday Nite Videos The Dream Police by Cheap Trick - 02/12/10 02:40 AM
Now that my 30 year high school reunion is being planned I have been listening to some of the music I listened to when I was a kid in Tacoma Washington. Much of it leaves a funny buzzing in my ears but there are some gems that even after all these years still give me a smile or chuckle.
Today's video is straight out of 1979 by Cheap Trick. They still tour and in fact will be playing in Tacoma in March. They were the first band I saw in concert so they will always have a place in my memory.

tacoma: Friday Nite Videos Roxy Music - 02/05/10 03:05 AM
Do you remember Roxy Music? Brian Ferry has such a warm smooth voice and the lush sounds of the band simply ooze the 1980's Bands like ABC, OMD, and others crafted songs that were rich and complex yet they caught on with the people who bought pop music.
Today it's a overcast day in Tacoma and I am working from home. My iTunes is on shuffle and this song popped up. I immediately went to You Tube and found the video. I found myself watching it and was reminded of my twenties again....Well, back to work looking at houses for my … (0 comments)

tacoma: Tacoma's Wright Park a Photo a Day Project. Seymour Conservatory - 10/14/09 03:06 AM
I am lucky to live next to Wright Park in Tacoma. A beautiful 27 acre park in the middle of the city. One of the things I have noticed is that I was not taking advantage of the park both as a great place to walk and get some exercise and as a place of beauty. Seems I take for granted things around me if I am not careful.
I started this project the first of October with the stated goal of taking a photo a day of the Seymour Conservatory. Now, I cannot be there at the same time everyday … (3 comments)
