Yes, Cirque du Soleil is back in Roanoke!
This year is Quidam is being performed for a limited time and it is a show to see!
Each night 50 performers along with 50 support staff will be entertaining the crowds at the Roanoke Civic Center. Like most Cique du Soleil shows, this show features live music with acrobats, clowns, singers, and performers from all over the world.

We all struggle with pricing homes correctly right now. The market is clearly improving but often there are not any recent sold comps to compare. So its very hard! But I like the triggers for the price reductions.

Its time again for the Roanoke St.Patrick's Day Parade!
Last year was packed but Record crowds are expected today due to the warm temperatures!
Business up and down Jefferson Ave are getting green to earn some green! During the slow time of the year, this is a welcome draw to area business. The City of Roanoke is closing more streets to allow for the large crowds and restaurants are getting ready. Many of them have ordered extra food and increased their wait staff for the day.

Karen Fiddler recently wrote a good post discussing the reasons she feels Buyer Broker agreements are bad. Many people are sharing their reasons why they do or do not support these agreements, but in Virginia it is a mute point.
Effective June 1, a new Virginia state law requires a buyer broker agreement or a notice of non-client representation!

Learning personal finance is very important. Young adults often make the wrong choices and end up in financial crisis. A few local business and schools have teamed up to help area High School how to handle money.
A Washington based company called Everfi has a 10 unit course that takes six hours to complete called My Money My Future. The course meets Virginia Standards of Learning for economics and personal finance.
First National Bank, American National Band and Trust and Genworth Financial  have team up to provide the program in 11 area high schools.

Bedford 1st Annual Blossom to Bottle 5K Run is April 14th, 9am.
Imagine a 5k run/walk through two wineries and the pastoral lands that surround them and its all for a good cause.
The Run benefits the YMCA Oncology Wellness Department.

Bedford isn't just a small town between Lynchburg and Roanoke, its an area where small business are opening and thriving. Bedford is a place with few chains. The big box retailers have stayed away and small business are opening to serve the needs of the local residents. So far this year, 4 new business have opened in Centertown Bedford and in Bedford County 37 new business have opened their doors. Compare this to the City of Lynchburg where 34 new business have opened.In a "bad economy" this is no small achievement.
