Ok, I have to admit we have been kind of lapse about tracking sales toa certain extent. But that changes earlier this year, we track seller/buyer side, number of transaction, income, how much spent on each listing, broker commissions... we track everything....

Everyone knows and respect J D Power and Associates client satisfaction survey. But sometimes there are flaws with responses. And I feel this years survey in Virginia may have a few flaws.
 
In VA, JD Power seller said they were unhappy with their agent. They claim they got less money than they thought they would get. According to the survey, sellers claim to only get 89%. But sales statics from the MLSs prove the average home sells for 97.2% to 98.3%. How can the numbers be so off? It could be many different reasons but I would suggest it has … (3 comments)

Looking at backpacks full of school supplies, volunteers were happy for what they had accomplished. In less than 2 hours about 25 people filled over 200 backpacks of donated school supplies. Many of the volunteers were from the Bedford Leads Group (BBLG), a networking group from the Bedford Chamber of Commerce. BBLG donated over $700 in supplies and backpacks in addition to labor to help pack. Wendy Witt said “This is so great, I know how excited my kids are when we shop for the school supplies!”

Each year many children go to school without any supplies. They can’t afford paper, pencils, or any of the basics need complete their daily school work. The Bedford County Department of Social Services each year has a pack the Backpack program to help the children. You can donate directly to the department of social services or you can send a check to Rapid Printing and they will buy school supplies and deliver them on your behalf!

The Moonshine will be flowing - 08/08/12 03:05 AM
During the days of prohibition the hills of South West Virginia were full of Moonshiners. While Franklin County Moonshiners are better known, Bedford had its share.
The Bedford History Museum will put our Moonshine history on display on Sept 7th. They museum has been collecting stories and artifacts to tell the history of the shiners of Bedford County. On display will be a large copper still which was donated to the museum. Former sheriff Carl Wells remembers finding this still and decided not to destroy it.
