Austin always knows how to throw a party, and ringing in 2011 wont be any different. From the shows, to the fireworks to the family events, there is something for everyone:
A great list of Austin New Years Eve Shows can be found in this great list, compiled by the Austin American Statesman. Austin favorites such as Jimmy Vaughn and one time Sandra Bullock beau Bob Schneider will help bring in the new year.
First Night Austin, has been replaced this year, by a city hosted event. The city event will take place on auditorium shores. The event will have fireworks, … (7 comments)

You Owe It To Yourself To Write A Real Estate Business Plan For 2011 - 12/30/10 06:19 PM
You owe it to yourself, you owe it to your business, to write a real estate business plan for the coming year, and years to come. Perhaps you already have a plan, and perhaps you already have a clear strategy of what you do, how you do it, and where your business comes from. Well let me come clean. I've never written a business plan for the profession I've chosen and existed in for the last fifteen years. I use the word existed, because that's pretty much what you do without a concise action plan. Don't get me wrong, the existence has … (45 comments)

Help The Capital Area Food Bank End Hunger By Using Your Like Button - 12/30/10 01:11 AM
Help the Capital Area Food Bank End Hunger, by liking it on Facebook. Walmart is donating 1 million dollars to the city with the most likes. The next five cities with the most Likes, will receive $100,000 towards their food banks. There are a total of one hundred cities in the challenge.
The great thing about the Capital Area Food Bank, is that they turn one donated dollar in to five dollars worth of donated food. $100,000 would be a huge benefit to the city. Austin is currently in sixth place, and a small percentage of the huge Austin Facebook population … (5 comments)

Katz's Closing January 2, 2011 - 12/26/10 12:59 PM
Every city has its list of iconic things. In Austin that means Barton Springs Pool, Zilker Park, Mount Bonnel and countless music venues and restaurants. One of those eateries is Katz's Deli. Located on West 6th Street, the moniker Katz's Never Closes was literally true for over thirty years, Katz's was open twenty four hours a day. The yellow convertible Cadillac parked outside was a beacon for many a hungry eater.
If you weren't inclined to cook on Thanksgiving or Christmas, Katz's was there with a hot pastrami sandwich. If you visited Sixth Street, for some late night partying- as many … (5 comments)

Austin Restaurants Open On Christmas Day - 12/24/10 09:58 AM
Thanksgiving is for turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings. After weeks of shopping and crowded stores, some people aren't in the mood for firing up the oven to cook that honey glazed ham, or turkey they just had last month. Or perhaps you are traveling. Either way, here is a list of Austin area restaurants that will be open on Christmas Day, and a few of my thoughts/comments.

Driskill Hotel - brunch on Mezannine Level - Austins most famous hotel. I never had a bad meal there.
Chinatown on Mopac

Marketing Advantages Of A Facebook Page - 12/03/10 08:25 PM

Lady Gaga has a big one. So does Vin Deisel. Sarah Palin uses hers quite a bit. Texas Hold'em might just have the biggest. Everyone seems to be on Facebook, and many entities have Facebook pages. There are many marketing advantages with a Facebook Page.
Seamless Use
Facebook pages work very similar to Facebook itself. Pages can be opened in less than a minute, just like a regular account. Furthermore, fans, customers, clients; or whatever the case may be, can interact with you, just as easy as a friend on a conventional Facebook account can.
