Ko'ie'ie is located next the the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary in North Kihei. The Marine Sanctuary has a museum and offers lectures on whales and marine life in Hawaii. What a great day for triathlon’s Xterra World Championship. A little overcast but warm, over 500 athletes from around the world began the race at Maluaka Beach in Makena Maui. Right next door is the new oceanfront private enclave of Maluaka - 13 homesites on the Ocean in Makena.
