I recently secured another REO for an investment client.  Not as easy as you might think. You would imagine that a cash buyer with realistic expectations of competition and a sincere desire to purchase property at a discount could easily find a good bank owned property to buy for investment.  His intention is to put renters in his purchase and ride out the downturn.
A couple of things to consider when looking for REO property for your investor clients:

It has long puzzled even the brightest of the financial world.  How can a loss make the stock market go up?  B of A announced today that it would post a loss, but not as bad as the analysts had expected...the stock market takes this news, processes it, and decides that it is a good thing, and the stock market shoots up...FURTHER DESTROYING THE BOND AND MORTGAGE MARKET!  The good news is good for many companies in the stock market, but not for B of A.  Stocks go up, bonds (Mortgage rates) get worse.  This wonderful loss will probably cost mortgage … (1 comments)
