The real estate industry has certain business practices that are considered “normal” one such business practice is the brokerage fee. Under federal and state law, it is illegal for brokers, or their agents, to discuss with other brokers and agents their brokerage fees This could be construed as price fixing. When home sellers need to sell, and turn to a real estate professional, why do they hear the same argument, from each real estate agent, justifying 6% listings? Traditional real estate agents look down at discount agents fearing that, by saving the home seller money, they are giving a bad name
