School is almost over for the year and summer will be here soon.  The kids are excited to be done with all the homework but will soon be bored.  Unless.... they are signed up for the many activities that Las Vegas, Henderson and Clark County have to keep their days full of fun!   
In Henderson, there are activies for all ages including a 10 week camp for preschoolers and kindergartners all the way up to day camps for teenagers.  Specialty camps include outdoor biking adventures, culinary art, dance and tumbling and outdoor survival .  There are field trips to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, NASCAR … (12 comments)

Everyone who visits Las Vegas, sees the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. It is a popular spot for tourists, locals and celebrities, to have a photo shoot. Did you ever think about who designed that sign? In 1959, Betty Willis, who was working at Western Neon, came up with the design.

According to Mojave Max, Spring has officially arrived!  Who is Mojave Max, you ask?  He is the desert tortoise mascot of Clark County's Desert Conservation Program.  He is the desert Southwest's equivalent of groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil.
  Mojave Max lives in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.    In the fall, he enters his burrow to brumate (technical term for reptiles in hibernation) and he emerges in the spring.   This year, he officially left his burrow on Tuesday April 15, 2008 at 11:27 AM.   This is the ninth year that Mojave Max has been studied.  This year, his emergence was the latest on record.  He was … (15 comments)
