It might be a little late for Christmas, but there are still sleigh rides departing daily from Mount Charleston Lodge, only 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Valley. Two Belgian draft horses pull a bright red sleigh along the beautiful, snowy trails. They have several teams of horses that enjoy working. If the horses are fed as much as they can eat and are bred to work, they work hard and adapt well to what they are pulling. All day Friday, it was raining in Las Vegas. Rain in Las Vegas means snow in the mountains and that means that ski and snowboard season has arrived! Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort reported 11.5" of new snow by Saturday morning. So far, they only have the beginners slopes open but they will be making more snow so that they can open more slopes.People were already heading up to the mountain yesterday, when the rain began here in the valley, to see the snowflakes fall.
