Are you thinking about making some improvements to your home?  You may qualify for a tax credit.  Here's some valuable information from Eric Kronberg with Kronberg Wall.
The recently signed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 makes federal energy efficiency tax credits available for your upcoming home renovations.
Specific types of high efficiency furnaces, air conditioners, and tankless gas water heaters qualify for the credits.  Certain energy efficient doors, windows, roofing, and insulation also qualify.  You are eligible to receive a credit for these upgrades if they are installed in existing homes that are primary residences. Grants for Restoring Historic Homes? - 06/24/09 04:53 PM

Last week, I had an inquiry from a prospective buyer who wanted to know if there are any grants available for restoring historic homes.  I did some research and found a list of grants, loans and tax incentives available on the Georgia Department of Natural Resources website.  For the most part, grants are available to government entities, non-profits and commercial property owners.  Residential property owners may qualify for tax incentives though.  Please keep in mind that any grant or tax incentive is going to have guidelines and restrictions that must be followed to qualify for the program.  I thought it … (5 comments)
