green living: Energy Efficiency Tax Credits - 06/30/09 07:04 AM
 
Are you thinking about making some improvements to your home?  You may qualify for a tax credit.  Here's some valuable information from Eric Kronberg with Kronberg Wall.
The recently signed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 makes federal energy efficiency tax credits available for your upcoming home renovations.
Specific types of high efficiency furnaces, air conditioners, and tankless gas water heaters qualify for the credits.  Certain energy efficient doors, windows, roofing, and insulation also qualify.  You are eligible to receive a credit for these upgrades if they are installed in existing homes that are primary residences. green living: Atlanta Earth Hour Update - 04/02/08 03:17 AM
Southern Company reported on Monday that Georgia Power users in the Atlanta market cut electricity usage by 4% during Earth Hour on Saturday between 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  That's enough electricity to power 1,750 homes.  I had forgotten about Earth Hour as I was having dinner with friends Saturday night.  However, all of my lights were turned off at my home so I still participated.  For more tips on living GREEN, check out my Saint Patrick's Day post.
