st patricks day: St. Patty's Day with a Punch - 03/11/13 09:55 AM
It's St. Patrick's Day and you're thirsty. If you're not really into green beer, or if you are looking for something your non-drinking friends (and kids) might enjoy, serve them this great Leprechaun or St. Pat's Day Green Punch. They're magically delicious!
Leprechaun Punch 1/2 gallon lime sherbet 2 liter bottle of lemon-lime soda Let the sherbet soften somewhat. Scoop the sherbet into a large punch bowl and slowly add the soda. Serve immediately.
St. Pat’s Day Green Punch 2 cups sugar 2 pkgs. Kool-Aid (any green flavor) 2 cups water 1 6-oz. can frozen orange juice (0 comments)
st patricks day: Happy St. Patrick's Day 2012 - 03/12/12 05:08 PM
Another reason to GO GREEN! Most Americans love a reason to celebrate. The crazier, the better. This fun-loving holiday attracts all cultures, because everybody’s Irish on St. Patrick’s day!! This not not only a cultural holiday, but a religious one as well. St. Patrick is known as the Patron Saint of Ireland prominently for bringing Christianity to Ireland. Lots of legends and embellished tails have been told. It is believed that St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Trinity (the father, son and the holy spirit) to the Irish. That he put a curse on venomous snakes in Ireland where it drove them (4 comments)
st patricks day: Drunken Corned Beef- A St. Patrick's Day Staple - 03/15/10 05:37 PM
Drunken Corned Beef- A St. Patrick's Day Staple For many years I boiled my corned beef. Then I found a recipe that combines two of my favorite flavors - corned beef and bourbon! Although the recipe calls for many seasonings, if your corned beef comes with a seasoning packet, that will suffice. Also, the recipe doesn't call for carrots but I can't imagine creating this dish without them. 4# Corned Beef Brisket 1/4 cup Bourbon, divided 4 whole cloves 4 peppercorns 2 bay leaves 1 clove garlic 3/4 c firmly packed brown sugar 1/4 cup orange juice 1 tsp. prepared mustard (12 comments)
