Life Expectancy of Home Components - 05/26/07 05:56 PM
Thanks to Bank of America Home Equity and The National Association of Home Builders we have a recent study of life expectancy of home components.  Here are some of their findings:
Appliances:  The life expectancy depends upon use and most get traded in or sold due to styles more than being worn out but a gas range has the longest expectancy of 15 years.  Dryers and refrigerators approximately 13 years.  The shortest appliance lifespans are compactors with 6 years, dishwashers 9 years and microwaves 9 years.

House Bill 1062 Passed - 05/25/07 06:47 PM
This is great news for homeowners living with strict homeowners associations as it now allows a standard 18x24 real estate sign with name rider in all subdivisions.  This bill is on its way for the Governor's signature and will take effect in 90 days.
Previously the homeowners association could ban signs of any kind and made selling, open houses and MLS tours virtually impossible thus making the selling process very difficult.
As Realtors we welcome this Bill and voted to help make it happen!

Bank of America Offers a "no-fee" Mortgage - 05/07/07 06:17 PM
Bank of America has unveiled a "no-fee" mortgage loan, with competitive interest rates, pays lender fees and doesn't require private mortgage insurance for those putting down 5% on a home purchase.  The only catch is that you must be a customer of Bank of America and have a FICO score of 620 or above.
Bank of America is so sure that this is the "best value" that they are willing to cut a $250 check to anyone who is approved for the loan and then feels they could have found a better deal with another lender.
