Great Food served at Salina's Mexican Restaurant in Chesterfield Missouri - 12/31/08 10:11 PM
After a day of crazy returns and shopping,two of my children and I stopped for a bite to eat at this little Mexican restaurant in Chesterfield, Missouri.  The food was awesome.  The salsa and spicy bean dip were both wonderful.  We ate a whole basket of chips and all of the dip.  We must have been hungry.

Skiing in Wildwood Missouri at Hidden Valley - 12/29/08 07:03 PM
Come enjoy over 30 acres of skiable surfaces.   Here is your opportunity to ski close to St. Louis in Wildwood, Missouri.  Perched atop a hill off Highway 109 and Alt Road, Hidden Valley's views are breathtaking.  The plan is to be making some white stuff every day this week.  Hopefully the weather cooperates and the Outlaw will be open this week.

Looking for something to do while on Christmas break...try bowling. - 12/28/08 09:58 PM
If your family is anything like mine, they are looking for something to do,now that the Christmas presents have been opened and used.  So why not take them bowling at the West County Lanes in Ellisville, Missouri.  The lanes are located just a hop-skip and jump from Wildwood, Missouri west on Manchester Road.

New Years Eve will be upon us soon and 2008 will officially be over.  Have you taken the time to look back over the year and assess the good, the bad and the ugly?  You haven't?  Me neither.
Where does the time go?  Do you believe the older you get the faster the years go by?  My Grandma always said this.  She was a wise woman.  She lived to be nearly 101 years old.  I believe she was absolutely correct.  Time seems to fly by, however, the younger you are the less you notice this affect.

Why is Merry Christmas wrong? - 12/26/08 02:02 PM
Why is saying Merry Christmas considered wrong?  I cannot believe the scandal involved in saying this phrase.  This has been something said for as long as I can remember.  And now it is considered bad. 
In the movie It is a Wonderful Life...George Bailey yells this while running through the falling snow in Bedford Falls.  Now people will walk away if this is said and they do not agree.  We are encouraged to say Happy Holidays or Season's Greetings or HO HO HO, but not Merry Christmas.  What is the deal?

Sunday at the Game - 12/21/08 10:07 PM

Thanks to my manager, John Williams, today I had the opportunity to go to a Rams football game at the Edward Jones Dome.  It was bitterly cold here in St. Louis making the walk from the parking garage to the game nearly unbearable.  For a first time at the dome, it was a pretty good game.  The dome was warm and the game was exciting.  There were four interceptions and four turnovers.  It was looking pretty promising.

Do you know the first time buyers in the market? - 12/16/08 11:43 PM
Do you know the first-time buyers in the market?  I was reading a NAR study today about the survey they recently completed.  I found it interesting the median age of the first-time buyer is 30.  This is down from the 2007 age of 31. 
The median buyer's income was about $60,000.  And the kicker to the survey, the first-time buyers are purchasing homes costing approximately $165,000.  WOW!  My first home was significantly less than that.
It was also intriguing to note these buyers plan to remain in the homes they purchase for 10 years.  Here we have long term planning from the next … (22 comments)

Here is a story to make you smile.  My son, Alex, home from college is working on some Christmas presents.  He borrowed the scotch tape from me for something.  He used the tape and then for some unknown reason, he could not find it... 
I think this young man is going to drive himself crazy.  I have to laugh though because this is exactly something I would find myself doing.  Knowing this, he pretended to act as crazy as I might. ;-)

With the Gift Card Issue, How will the shopping get done? - 12/08/08 10:33 PM
As many of you may have already heard, gift cards this year could be a little scary to buy and give.  My shopping for the last couple of years has consisted of buying a variety of cards and tailoring the giving based on the recipient's likes and dislikes.  It has been a successful and stress free way to give gifts until now.
With many of the stores planning to close January 1st, why are they still selling gift cards?  This is not a concept easily understood.  Apparently, this is referred to as "Bankruptcy Planning".  There is no law to prevent the … (22 comments)

The Scenic Regional Library is planning to host a free class:  Introduction to the Internet.
This class will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 21, 2009 at the Pacific Library on 119 W. St. Louis Street, Pacific, Missouri. 
It will be a beginner lever class to teach users how to find their way on the web.  They will learn techniques to discover how the net can be their place for news, government information, entertainment, etc.

It is difficult to believe but Wines of Wildwood has been in business at the Dierberg's Town Center located in festive downtown Wildwood for 4 years.  To celebrate this awesome event, they are hosting an open house Friday December the 5th from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
