A big thank you to everyone who helped stop the transfer tax here in the lovely state of Missouri. Our efforts were successful. The constitution will be amended so there will be no transfer tax.

Missouri..Stop the Transfer Tax
Missouri residents, agents...etc, act NOW to stop the transfer tax.
What is the transfer tax?
A real estate transfer tax is a tax paid when you close on a property. The tax would be a percentage of the total sales price charged/paid and paid by every seller, buyer or both at closing.
The taxes are often paid by people who have lived in their home for years and have already paid thousands of dollars in annual property taxes so transfer taxes are nothing more than double taxation.

Transfer Tax Initiative: Missouri Real Estate Issue
During the October 2009 Business Meeting at the Lake of the Ozarks, the Missouri Association of Realtors (MAR) rolled out the campaign "Vote Yes to Stop Double Taxation". All signs show Missourians are in favor of this issue. It will still take a lot of work to make this a successful campaign.
Thus far signatures are being gathered to get the issue on the ballot.
