It turns out going green does pay in Portland Oregon.
For sellers that are wondering what they can do to get an edge over the competition the answer might be right under your feet. Portland realtor Nick Krautter recently completed a survey of homes sold in the last month and came up with interesting results.

Welcome to the latest update to the inventories by zipcode. This shows which parts of town and which types of property are selling and which ones are sitting. Inventory is figured in months with 6 months being balanced, less than 6 months favoring sellers and more than six months favoring buyers. If I missed your area just let me know and I'll add it in.

Homes are selling and money is cheap!We currently have 6.2 months of inventory which is the beginning of a buyer's market - there are about 16,000 homes on the market in Portland metro. Rates are at their lowest in 4 years and it's a great time to borrow money. All this being said the median home price is still going up - about 8% over last year.
