- 05/16/23 08:15 PM
Lilacs It Takes More Than April Showers...I have always loved lilacs. However, I couldn't grow them in Southern California. By that, I mean the lilac bushes would not flower. When I moved to Sedona, I discovered I had flowering lilac bushes the following April. I was so excited about this. I didn't plant these lilacs. They were there when we moved in. You Need A Cold Winter For Great BloomsI am not sure where I heard that lilacs need an excellent freeze to bloom. But that is not an issue in Sedona. We do not get days below freezing, but our weather (44 comments)

Soldiers Pass - Sedona Arizona Bird Watching Ash-throated Flycatcher Well spring is here. The weather is wonderful. We are at 75º as I write this at 1 PM. It will probably get just a little warmer. I thought I would enjoy the outside backyard sipping a tea with my husband's Canon 5D Mark IV camera for just a few minutes. I often bring my Audubon book "Field Guide to the Southwestern States" to help me with birds I may not know. It is a great way to soak up the warm weather and decompress especially before planning and preparing the big Easter dinner on Sunday. As the Blue (20 comments)
spring in sedona: Blink and it is gone.....A Spring Snapshot of Crescent Moon Ranch

Crescent Moon Ranch Park in Sedona AZ Blink and it's gone.... Crescent Moon Ranch in Sedona Arizona is one of my favorite areas to visit. However, this image is generally only available during a short time in spring. I am talking specifically about the green grass. The grass is wild. The image to the right, is a two minute walk on a trail to the right of the shed in the picture above. Lower Oak Creek borders (20 comments)
