A Dumpling is not just a dumpling...

In Mexico there is Masa for a corn meal.  In Germany there is Pfanni for a potato 'meal'.
From there it is up to the cook of the house and their specialty...
My mom makes a Bavarian dumpling with a center of sauteed bread cubes making for lighter dumpling, thoroughly cooked and a perfect accompaniement to any main dish with a sauce.  Whether a vegetarian Portobello Mushroom sauce (cream optional) or  Venison and a reduction sauce.  There is nothing like … (3 comments)
