In Raleigh, NC, the conditions are ripe for a quicker sale than in years past. The inventory is shrinking, days on market are reducing and the number of buyers ready to make that commitment have increased! You know you want to have the best presentation for buyers during the first two weeks you are on the market.

 

You look at your carpet that has never been replaced in the ten years that you have lived there and decide to just professionally clean the carpets. Why buy new carpet when you can save money just cleaning the carpets?

 

This conversation is one that many home owners face every year. But, I propose that home sellers take the guess work out of cleaning the carpet and just purchase new carpet. The investment will be worth it!

 

New carpet will take the old odors out of your home and set your home apart from all the other homes in the neighborhood. Today’s buyers are becoming more and more frustrated with having to do “projects” once they move into their homes and will eliminate those homes off of their list to re-visit. And remember, with down payments increasing and credit standards becoming more conservative, hooking a buyer that is pre-qualified and ready to go is very important.

 

Your job as a home owner is to make your home a “no-brainer” for the buyer.  The buyer should walk in and say this is the biggest bang for my buck! Period!!

 

Time wasted over haggling over this question, could mean wasted money spent in holding costs while your home remains on the market.
