When homeowners are forced to leave their homes due to foreclosure they leave behind a collection of potential problems in a neighborhood. Empty houses can attract unwanted intruders, squatter, illegal activity, and can ultimately drive down the values of home around them.
Here in South Kitsap, foreclosures only make up 7% of the active listings; however that 7% hinders their neighbors and homes actively on the market.
The good news is that with just a few steps you can prevent some of the negative impact of foreclosures in your neighborhood and less the impact if prevention is unseccessful.

Reducing your debt is a lot like trying to lose weight. You will not see all of the hard work at first but it will show up. You must be deligent and keeping at it and know that it will make a difference... long term.

The best thing to do after you have got your spending under control is to focus on reducing your interest rates. I personally did this for my own credit cards and it is much easier than you think.
Have your information about your credit cards in front of you... things like payment history, how long you have had the credit, etc.

Freddie Mac using incentives to move more REO's - 06/03/11 04:37 PM
In an effort to get through the Freddie Mac inventory a bit quicker, Freddie Mac is offereing incentives to selling brokers of an additional $1200 on top of normal commissions from now until to the final day of September. 
The special incentive program applies to HomeSteps properties to owner-occupant buyers but not to investors. 
In addition, Freddie Mac is offering to pay up to 3.5% of the buyers closing costs during this program.
