OK, my camera has a secret life - an alter ego, if you will. In the hands of my son, she becomes a car maniac, shooting hundreds of shots rapid fire in a day. I think I have more car shots on my computer than family, house or Localism type shots! It's my fault. I introduced a love of photography to our kids early on and John is in his third year of photography in high school. While he has nixed plans to become a professional photographer in favor of international business, his love and passion for both the camera (11 comments)

Riverside-Avondale named one of 10 Great American Neighborhoods If you live here you know it, but there is definitely satisfaction to knowing that the fantastic historic neighborhoods of Riverside-Avondale have been recognized by The American Planning Association as one of the Top 10 Neighborhoods in America. This is huge! It is the first time any Florida neighborhood has made the list. After the great fire in Jacksonville in 1901, architects were drawn here to recreate the 'blank palette.' One of the more noted was Henry J. Klutho, a protege of Frank Lloyd Wright, whose Prairie style homes dot the landscape in (8 comments)

Do You Have A Day Of Rest Every Week? Everybody needs one. The Bible is very clear about a day of rest. Psychological research bears it out. Human beings were not created to work seven days in a row week after week after week. We need a break! Our brains need a time-out from whatever our daily routine is. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Real Estate and many other jobs aren't tidy businesses. It's hard to cut it off at 5pm until the next day. It's hard to cut it off for a whole day.
