Just when I thought I'd seen everything, we came across this in an older house on Fleming Island. This left us speechless! We laughed until we cried - after we were mildly horrified at the idea that anyone - what kind of person would? - have you ever seen anything like it in your house wanderings? Do tell if you have! Meanwhile, ROTFL at this one! (19 comments)
Big water has many faces. Tuesday there were white caps on Doctors Lake, an inlet of the mighty St. Johns River. Brackish water churned as the wind whipped by. Clear sandy bottoms reveal baby sting rays, giant manatees, shrimp in season, and much other wildlife every day of the year. (10 comments)

SHOULD WE RENT OUR JACKSONVILLE FL HOUSE TO A TENANT WITH AN OPTION TO BUY? - 01/21/11 09:10 PM
What do you think about renting our Jacksonville FL house for a year to a tenant with an option to buy? That is a great question! It is certainly an option for Jacksonville FL sellers to rent their home with an option to buy vs. keeping the home for sale, hoping the right buyer at the right price will come along. SELLER ADVANTAGES Prospective buyers who rent a home in Jacksonville with the intention to buy in a year will pay more in rent. They will pay close to or equal what their mortgage payment will be. They will treat the home as if (9 comments)
Use A Rain barrel!!! - 01/12/11 12:08 AM
I'm not exactly sure how we could use a rain barrel here in Eagle Harbor since we have reclaimed water and a sprinkler system, but I just love the idea of conserving water for use when you need it. This is definitely something worth checking into. Via Kristin Johnston,Waukesha County Realtor Buyers Agent,Waukesha Cty WI Real Estate (Remax Realty Center 414-254-6647):
My hubby and I are trying to do even more to become Greener in 2011. One of the choices we have made is to purchase a rain barrel system. We found this one locally, and purchased it yesterday. You have (10 comments)
WHY SHOULD I USE A LOCAL JACKSONVILLE FL LENDER? - 01/08/11 12:18 AM
WHY SHOULD I USE A LOCAL JACKSONVILLE FL LENDER? BECAUSE INTERNET LENDERS QUOTE SUCH GREAT INTEREST RATES! Great question! And one we have answered through painful personal experience with deals that almost fell through and would have if we didn't have local Jacksonville FL people who could swoop in and save the day deal. In our experience, buyers who shop around and secure an internet lender or one they do now know and we do not know, often have a very unhappy and possibly deal-killing experience. Consider these true stories: 1. Does the lender know your FLORIDA state laws and (11 comments)
Conventional Loan Limits Change after September 30, 2011 - 01/07/11 11:46 PM
Heads up, Conventional Loan Buyers! Fannie Mae has announced that the high balance limit is re-setting for loans originated after September 30, 2011 - that's just 9 months away! My Active Rain friend Deborah Garvin just wrote a terrific post on Fannie Mae High Loan Balance Loan Limits, and it reminded me that Florida residents need the notice that new loan limits will be in effect before the year is over. It had to happen. Jacksonville FL home values have declined 11.1% in 2010, according to Clear Capital's report on the top 50 MSAs in the country. How can we expect (2 comments)
