Just when I thought I'd seen everything, we came across this in an older house on Fleming Island. This left us speechless! We laughed until we cried - after we were mildly horrified at the idea that anyone - what kind of person would? - have you ever seen anything like it in your house wanderings? Do tell if you have! Meanwhile, ROTFL at this one!

Big water has many faces. Tuesday there were white caps on Doctors Lake, an inlet of the mighty St. Johns River. Brackish water churned as the wind whipped by. Clear sandy bottoms reveal baby sting rays, giant manatees, shrimp in season, and much other wildlife every day of the year.

I'm not exactly sure how we could use a rain barrel here in Eagle Harbor since we have reclaimed water and a sprinkler system, but I just love the idea of conserving water for use when you need it. This is definitely something worth checking into.
