Sunday, April 24th, is the last day of the North Dallas Artist Studio Tour. Visit local artists in their studios and select a piece of art for your home office or a generous housewarming gift. All studios are located south of I-635 (LBJ Freeway), between Marsh Lane Lane and I-75 (Central Expressway).  There is no charge to visit the studios.

Art Lovers,  Saturday, August 8 is an opportunity to select a piece for art for your home or office.  Two of my favorite artists, Carter Herrington and Kevin Carpenter, are moving from Dallas to Austin next week. Saturday they are hosting a Blowout Art Sale, beginning at 5:00 P.M.

Friday is an exciting night at the MADI, Museum of Geometric and MADI Art in Dallas.  The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony for the Biennial 2015: Origins in Geometry Exhibit will take place from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
Eleanor Heartney, noted author and contributing editor to "Art in America" and "Artpress," will select pieces to be included in the Exhibition that will run from July 19, 2015 through October 6, 2015.

Every Spring, the public is invited to visit the studios of local artists.  It's an opportunity to visit your favorite artists and meet new favorites.  Guests learn about the creative process behind the works of art. Valley House Gallery and Sculpture Garden is a treasure on the Dallas art scene.   Founded by Donald and Peggy Vogel fifty years ago, this gallery gem is nestled among the trees on a winding drive off Spring Valley Road in North Dallas.  The Vogel's son, Kevin Vogel and his wife Cheryl have nurtured this gallery for the last two decades.  In my opinion, they are the go to people for questions about art and artists.

Sunday, October 13, is the Dia de los Muertos Exhibition at the Bath House Cultural Center on the East Shore of White Rock Lake in Dallas.
Dia de los Muertos, taking place around Halloween, is one of the most celebrated holidays in Mexico.  It is a celebration of the lives of those who have died.  Celebrations include preparing the favorite foods of those who have passed on and celebrating with gusto.

The Nasher Sculpture Center is hosting a "Gallery Lab and Book Signing" this Thursday.  The topic of the evening is the creation of the monograph  Richard Patterson.  Dallas based artist and author, Richard Patterson, and the book's designer, Mark Thompson,  will discuss the making of Patterson's first monograph.

Chair Art in the Park, Klyde Warren Park,  is the perfect activity for this sunny Dallas Saturday!  It's a great opportunity to visit the Dallas Arts District and enjoy lunch served by one or more of the gourmet food trucks in the area.
