China Cove is located in Corona del Mar is on the ocean side of Coast Highway. Corona del Mar literally means Crown of the Sea. It is off Ocean Boulevard and down Fernleaf. These photographs were taken at our friend's home in Vista, California when we went for a visit yesterday. On their property were a multitude of fruit trees including tangerine and orange trees. These are nectarine trees, that apparently produce a fair amount of fruit. I thought the spring blooms were beautiful, with the contrast of the blue sky in the background.

What Are You Looking At?
This photograph was taken yesterday at a friend's home in Vista, California. The friends had a large parcel of property with fruit trees, chickens, and a garden for vegetables including cilantro, artichokes, and peppers. Vista is near Escondido, and Oceanside. We were surprised that the family had a pot bellied pig, that was so cute. She was pretty friendly and her name is Pearl!

The Huntington State Beach Lifeguard try outs were yesterday at lifeguard headquarters yesterday morning. The air temperature was 55 degrees, and the water was in the high 50’s. My daughter Heather Thomson participated in the requalification swim yesterday. I enjoy watching and encouraging these candidates who braved some less than optimal conditions yesterday. Not only was the air and water cold, there was a strong current, and choppy conditions. One of the candidates said because of the chop, it was difficult to get a rhythym while swimming.
