Can Home Staging Help You Sell Your New Hampshire Home? - 08/28/12 03:35 AM
Can Home Staging Help You Sell Your New Hampshire Home?
Preparing to place your New Hampshire home on the market and questioning whether or not Home Staging is a good idea?  My friend Maureen Bray has some pictures that may help you decide.
Maureen's dramatic "before & after" photos are all the evidence you need.  Selling your New Hampshire home requires marketing it like a product....strategic marketing is what professional Home Staging is all about!

The Best Hair Dryer - Ionic, Ceramic & Tourmaline At A Very Low Price - 08/27/12 03:19 AM
The Best Hair Dryer - Ionic, Ceramic & Tourmaline At A Very Low Price
What do hair dryers have to do with Home Staging in New Hampshire?  Nothing.  But I had to share this!
I have very thick, long hair that requires more than an average hair dryer.  Years ago I bought a T3 Tourmaline professional dryer....it was expensive, but promises of healthier hair and shorter drying time convinced me it was worth the money.  I was a bit disappointed that my hair wasn't as smooth as promised, but the drying time was cut in half.
Last week my T3 died … (19 comments)

Selling Your New Hampshire Home - Concentrate On The Things You Can Control - 08/24/12 05:28 AM
Selling Your New Hampshire Home - Concentrate On The Things You Can Control
Preparing your New Hampshire home for sale?  Yes, it's a lot of work and most sellers get overwhelmed at the task.  You'll have a much easier time of it, if you work smart...tackling the things you actually control...condition and presentation.
Kathy Strader, a Houston Home Stager, wrote this great post on the subject.

New Hampshire Home Stager Advice - Don't Be Afraid Of Empty Spaces - 08/20/12 03:26 AM
New Hampshire Home Stager Advice - Don't Be Afraid Of Empty Spaces
Whether you are selling your house or just want to improve it's appearance for yourself, there's a simple rule to remember....Less is More.
Decorating or Staging your house is not an "all you can stuff in a bag" sale.  If you have too much stuff, too much furniture,  it's distracting.  Your eyes bouncing around the room from item to item will cause uneasiness.
As a professional Home Stager in New Hampshire I've found that most homeowners have a tendancy to crowd rooms.  People feel a need to place furniture in … (30 comments)

"Location, Location, Location" Refers To More Than Just The Address - 08/17/12 05:15 AM
"Location, Location, Location" Refers To More Than Just The Address

It's the real estate mantra...."Location!  Location!  Location!"  As a professional Home Stager in New Hampshire I've had clients at both ends of the spectrum.....from ocean front to landfill directly behind.
Location does matter. Here's something to consider if you're planning on listing your New Hampshire house for sale.  Location isn't just about the property address.  Location of furniture is also very important!
Furniture placement can make or break a home sale.  Sure, some buyers can see past the furniture, but it's only about 10% of them.  The other 90% of … (84 comments)

Selling Your New Hampshire Home - Give Yourself Plenty of Prep Time - 08/13/12 06:52 AM
Selling Your New Hampshire Home - Give Yourself Plenty of Prep Time
Selling your most valuable asset is not something to rush into.  As a New Hampshire Home Stager I've received far too many calls wanting a consult asap because the house is going on the market in less than a week.
It's so important to have your house 100% show ready PRIOR to listing!  Give yourself plenty of prep time!

NH Home Staging - Buyer's Perception Trumps Seller's Expectation - 08/10/12 04:30 AM
NH Home Staging - Buyer's Perception Trumps Seller's Expectation

It's funny how the house you complain about  being too small, or too dark or too old suddenly becomes so valuable when you decide to sell it.  Most sellers have unrealistic expectations when it comes to pricing their home.  Ask any real estate agent....they can provide endless examples of sellers insisting on listing too high.

Value is not determined by
What you want for your house
What you need to get for your house
What your neighbor got for his house
Value is determined by buyer perception....how much do they … (37 comments)

New Hampshire Home Staging Myths - It's Not Like It's Shown On TV - 08/07/12 06:53 AM
So many misconceptions out there about Professional Home Staging!
As a New Hampshire Home Stager I specialize in Home Staging Consults....supplying NH sellers with the information they need to transform and prepare their home for sale.  No crew and no TV cameras!  Wouldn't that be fun though!
My good friend and Florida Stager, Kathy Streib, wrote this great explanation of what to expect from a home staging consult.

NH Home Staging Tip For Bathroom Tile....Making Grout Look New - 08/06/12 12:43 PM
NH Home Staging Tip For Bathroom Tile....Making Grout Look New

You don't have to be preparing your house for sale to want to improve the look of your bathroom tile.
If you have stained or discolored grout that you would like to make look new again, I recommend using  Grout Refresh.
It's an easy to use colorant.  The results are wonderful!
The grout on my guest bath floor was discolored in some areas...no matter what I tried, including my steam cleaner, it just wouldn't come clean.
I got Grout Refresh at Lowe's and applied it with a toothbrush.

Getting Rid of Your Clutter Could Change The Life of Someone Else

I've learned so much over the years as a Home Stager in New Hampshire.  I've worked in many homes and it never ceases to amaze me how much "stuff" people accumulate and how reluctant they can be to part with it.
It's interesting how much of a hold material items can have on us...and how often they are allowed to take over our living space.
Getting rid of the clutter will improve your life,  and it could also change the life of someone else.
