This is one of my favorite photos of my grandson, Zack. 
It was taken six years ago, and I've shared it before, but it was the first photo I thought of when I heard about the contest.

to struggle not to say something that you really want to say
 
 As a home stager I have lots of experience biting my tongue. It's the same for anyone in the real estate business, or any business for that matter.
We can't always say what we are thinking. If we did, we would offend people instead of helping them. Helping them, afterall, is what we are hired to do. Judging them, insulting them, putting them on the defensive does not accomplish the task at hand.

A self-portrait photo, usually taken with a cell phone held at arm's length, for the purpose of sharing on social media.
You may think selfies are a new thing. They really aren't.
 
According to Wikipedia:
Robert Cornelius took a picture of himself in 1839.
 It is the oldest known existing photographic portrait in America.
You could say it was the first selfie.
 
Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna, youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II
(the famous Anastasia of the Russian royal family that was murdered in 1918),
 took a photo of herself, using a mirror, and shared it with a friend via mail.

Real estate photos sell homes.
It's the pictures that buyers first see online that determine which homes they will visit for a closer look and which homes they will discard as unacceptable.

 
It's important to note that visual appeal is not the only thing to strive for when photographing a home for sale.
Emotional appeal is also important. 
Something home stagers often do is shoot a close-up shot of a decorative item, making it the focal point, with a positive feature of the home as the background of the photo.
Most mls listings simply show each room.
