fall decorating ideas: How To Make An Awesome Ghost For Halloween
- 10/23/16 10:55 PM
Between Youtube and Pinterest, there's no shortage of clever ideas out there to inspire diy Halloween projects....from the most basic to the most realistic. I've created some memorable costumes and scary props over the years. Halloween really brings out my creative side. This year I decided to make my own ghost. I wanted something more realistic than a hang a white sheet from the ceiling ghost so I headed to Youtube for ideas. I found an awesome tutorial. All you need to make this translucent ghost is a styrofoam head, clear trash bags, and clear packing tape. (See full tutorial below) The head was pretty easy (76 comments)
What is a tablescape, you ask? For those of you wondering what I'm talking about.... creating a tablescape is basically setting the table. It includes the centerpiece, linens, glassware, and dishes. It's about creating visual appeal, whether it's for a formal dinner party or a casual luncheon. I don't believe in spending a lot of money on decor, especially holiday decor. I prefer using what I have on hand, and with a little creativity the results can be quite impressive.

fall decorating ideas: Decorating For The Season - Halloween Home Staging

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I've always enjoyed the costumes, haunted houses, hay rides and especially the decorating. Decorating for Halloween is a fun family tradition in many homes. Halloween decor has evolved over the years. No longer is a witch's broom by the door, or a few jack-o-lanterns on the steps going to cut it. People are staging full horror show productions on their front lawns.
So....what about homes that are listed for sale?
How much blood and gore is too much if your home is on the market?
Even though it's all in good fun and holiday spirit, an abundance of (32 comments)
This time of year the question always comes up... Can I decorate for Halloween while my house is on the market?
The best advice I have, as a New Hampshire Home Stager, is to keep your decorating simple. Decorate for the season, not specifically for the holiday. Decorate for fall instead of Halloween A few strategically placed pumpkins and gourds throughout the home, a basket of apples, tree branches arranged in an urn....you can celebrate the season without distracting potential buyers. The front door is a great place to decorate for the holidays. As (20 comments)
My daughter Jaime (Zack's mom) recently did some Halloween decorating at her house. When I saw her pictures of what she created, I knew I had to share them. First....a ghost in the mirror. Apply Glad Press'n Seal clear wrap to your mirror. Cut into a ghostly shape using a razor blade.
I made a couple of ghosts for my house too!
Here's a great idea for making a witch's head!Zack wanted a witch in their yard. Jaime had the dress and hat, but no head. She wanted the head to be waterproof to withstand rain. (29 comments)
It's time to transition your planters and window boxes from Summer to Fall. You don't have to spend a lot of money or time on your planters in order to get colorful results. This year I took the fast and easy route. I simply added aspects of Fall to whatever remained from my Summer plants. My window boxes had Portulacas in them all Summer. They were looking a little sad, but the colors were right for Fall so I used them as a base.... and simply added gourds and small pumpkins. A very inexpensive fix (30 comments)
