Well, it makes Life Interesting .... - 04/24/11 01:25 AM
Tears For Fears kind of put it best.
And my perfect world isn't yours and yours certainly isn't mine.  What's nice about that is that we get to banter back and forth until we either get to Heaven or become a tattoo.  And if I die a bit early, for whomever may be reading, please never let me become that tattoo.  I'd rather be in our idea of Purgatory.
Watching Political Discourse is interesting, at best.  I suppose I believe that everyone involved (no matter their outlook) is wanting the best for Humanity as a whole.  And I suppose I'm pretty … (73 comments)

Festivus ... Come Early! - 04/21/11 11:31 PM
I'm not sure how to put this correctly, appropriately, or without puncturing my other lung ... but I've got a bone to pick with people involved in any respect in my particular life.
The airing of a few grievances ...
I will start with me.  34 years into this gig and sometimes I don't know my ass from the other limited access options involved.   My life has become a routine.  Wake up, check on particular websites, wipe my bum, shower, wipe my bum again, and come home from work to the peace and tranquility that life offers.  But it ain't peace … (18 comments)

The Seasonal Workers - 04/19/11 09:08 PM

Jennifer is writing a collection of short stories - all fiction - and needed a place to post one for review. This is just one that will appear in a collection titled "I Want to See You Again".
Enjoy, critique, or slam, as you see fit:

The Seasonal Workers
They were only seasonal workers, so the animals didn’t pay much attention when the great scarlet tractor came blazing along the old dirt road. It billowed dust right past the feed stalls and then on toward the vegetable garden. Bright and shiny and brand new as far as Hamby could tell. And the … (10 comments)

Sundown ... - 04/15/11 12:24 AM
Dear Soul,
While I'm probably more difficult to deal with than your average case of herpes, I'd like to think a smile to end the night is worth the very weight.
For 34 years I've done thinking, drinking, and thinking to death ... and then I met you.  Things changed.  I wasn't always a drinker and at times, I wasn't always a thinker ... and even to this day I can be a stinker ... however I'd like to think, no matter what the drink, that I will have you in my arms because you are the link between the heart … (19 comments)

The ten things you don't want to hear when you first wake up ... - 04/12/11 11:46 PM
1)  Yanni.
2)  Yeah, you posted THAT on Active Rain.
3)  But it was only my pinky!
4)  I tried to cuddle you and ended up with a stool sample on my leg.  Care to explain?
5)  I thought you were already circumsized.
6)  Is this your Vasoline?
7)  It beats Prison, Right?
8)  Bachman has just won the Presidency.
9)  The chosen one beside you passing gas and hiding your head under the covers as he/she does it.  Great sense of humor, yes.  I'd still opt for an Alarm Clock, though.
10)  My name is Chris Hansen and I'm doing a … (13 comments)

The Queen of Drama! - 04/11/11 11:58 PM
I remember a day when I wasn't afraid of anything.  Perhaps I was more irresponsible then, but it doesn't change the fact that I had balls. If the next decision meant I may be homeless, without pay, or not pictured in the smiling photograph with the head of the very individual signing the bottom right half of my paycheck, I was cool with that. I always kind of knew I'd make it on my own terms.
Big Question: What ARE my own terms?  Never having to worry about money again?  Being in the comforting arms of a stabilized paycheck? Or, maybe those terms are not either … (8 comments)

Friday's Frisky Fiesta! Or, a rant by the Lone Stranger. - 04/08/11 10:30 PM
And ...
cut to the opening!
I still believe you can solve all the ills and differences in the world with one sentence.  I just don't believe I can provide it ...
... Which explains why I can't conjure up an appropriate comment to many posts I read around here.  Let me illustrate some examples without giving out the author's name, link, or IQ :
One man waxed pious in regards to the heated debate over Government Spending.  Okay, I'm on board so far.  The Title of the Post would have the reader believe that he watched too many Viagra Commercials … (19 comments)

A Financial Creed. - 04/06/11 10:53 PM
~ I will not piss off my superiors by offering up my point of view.
~ I will not talk about Politics, for fear that one of the said superiors actually would vote for Sarah Palin.
~ I will not joke around because HR is around every little corner.
~ I will not ask for what I think I'm worth because I no longer have just ME to think about.
~ I will not sleep until the dreams of a better now awaken the sweet sorrow of a nightmare from before.
I will not piss I will not talk (about Politics) … (24 comments)
