Perspective - which one of these photos appeals to you more? Which do you feel is the better photo? I know which one speaks to me the most, but when I asked my husband, he liked the opposite one than I did... I wonder if it is a male / female difference?

While visiting the mountains last weekend, I ran across this old tree... It really fascinated me for some reason.. The fist picture in particular was really cool... but the second photo I wanted to show for perspective.. The house is an old abandoned home that is at Station Cove Falls.

nature: 3 Years Have Passed - Now It Is Back - 09/20/14 11:48 PM
It’s been three years this time since the Great Blue Heron visited our creek. Last time he stayed gone for four years... Years ago, he would come more often to hunt from the bounty of frogs and small fish and salamanders which make our creek their home. He is a very large bird and so beautiful!

Did you know that Great Blue Herons are a protected species? It is such an honor to have him visit our creek!

Lately, I have seen him several times walking up and down our creek... He is back right now... As I write this I have been watching him walk … (10 comments)

It’s been four years since the Great Blue Heron visited our creek. He used to come now and then to hunt from the bounty of frogs and small fish and salamanders which make our creek their home. We saw him fairly often, and always I was taken aback by his beauty – right there in our front yard, only thirty yards away!
Then, he just stopped coming. Christmas four years ago is the last we saw of him, and I have often wondered what happened. Did he die? Did someone kill him? (Great Blue Herons are a protected species, but … (3 comments)
