real estate market: What Will 2017 Hold For Upstate SC Real Estate? - 01/08/17 12:36 PM
The beginning of a new year is always exciting to me. It is full of hope and possibility.  I am an optimist at heart and always start the year thinking it will be a wonderful year for all!  Being a Realtor in Upstate SC, I wanted to make a few predictions for what 2017 will be like in the real estate market for our area.
In the end, I think it will be a great year for our market. As with all years, it will have it's ups and downs, but I think our area will continue to grow and prosper. Following … (13 comments)

real estate market: There are Plenty of Reasons To Be Optimistic For Real Estate For 2013 - 01/03/13 12:36 PM
We understand that we are still a long way away from a strong economy and there are still potholes we must navigate around in order to keep the recovery marching forward. However, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic at the start of this new year. The most important reason to be optimistic is the improving state of the real estate market as existing and new home sales continue to increase. What a difference a year makes in this regard. Last year at this time we were listening to market prognosticators telling us about how long it will take to … (3 comments)

real estate market: Your Thoughts Can Determine How Well You Do In Real Estate - 12/12/12 08:04 AM

Your thoughts can determine how well you do in real estate. I have seen so many agents in the past few years with the mindset that the economy is so slow that the market is too bad to sell homes. When you focus on the negatives and what is lacking in your business, you miss the opportunities that are around you and constrict the flow of energy that you could put in to your business if you had a better outlook. Some of the worst thoughts you can have are: "I can't succeed in today's market.", "I don't have … (3 comments)

real estate market: The Real Estate Market Is Recovering - 11/12/12 09:57 AM

The real estate market is recovering. This is the news for which we have been waiting for some time. However, we know that many are still reading stories about the fact that only those who are very, very qualified can qualify to obtain a home loan at these record low rates. Many have argued that if lenders loosened up, the real estate market would be booming right now. There are three points we would like to make regarding this issue.
First, credit standards have gotten looser. Government programs to encourage refinancing have been part of this effort. In addition, … (0 comments)

real estate market: Positive Signs For The Housing Market! - 11/05/12 11:22 AM
By the less-demanding standards of the past few years, the latest housing figures look pretty good. Prices have risen now for several consecutive months. Experts are especially impressed that prices of the least-expensive third of homes lead the gains. Those homes had received the worst drubbing in the recent housing market collapse. Is this the start of the long-awaited and elusive housing recovery… one that would bring a stronger economy overall? Or is the market just taunting us as it bumps along the bottom?

Several factors have combined to strengthen the market. Extraordinarily low rates have allowed millions of homeowners … (1 comments)

real estate market: The Tide Is Turning! - 10/10/12 11:15 AM
We have seen some evidence in the past few months that the tide is turning. For one, real estate values are up. This means that real estate and loans secured by real estate are becoming a better investment. Theoretically, this will make lenders more confident in loosening their own standards. Along with this, defaults on newly originated home loans are down significantly. Finally, builders are again building more homes because of a shortage of inventory. Most prognosticators feel that the slow recovery will continue step-by-step. However, we feel that there will be a tipping point in which all the stars align … (3 comments)
