Maywood Station Open House September 8th  

 
The historic Maywood Station Museum (located at 269 Maywood Avenue) will hold an Open House on Wednesday September 8th, from 7pm to 9pm.
A variety of displays and artifacts, highlighting railroad and local history, will be shown in the museum, and visitors will have the opportunity to climb aboard the the Big Red Caboose and see it's operating model train layout and additional displays.
 

 
Admission is FREE, but donations are welcome.

Maywood Youth Athletics Association Annual Election
 
The MYAA's Annual Election will be held in October, and there are still some positions available.
All Executive Board positions are open: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. There are also seats on the Board available - 3 one-year terms, and 1 two-year term.

I had a showing today with a buyer who was SUPER KEEN to see a specific home in my area - based on the listing wording and the pictures ...
 
But although the listing agent did a terrific job with the online listing presentation, he didn't do such a good job explaining to the SELLER that it is ALWAYS better if sellers are out of the home when a potential buyer comes to view it !

Recently appraisals have hit the spotlight  because of the increased restrictions / guidelines / expectations placed on them. I came to this country on a Full Soccer Scholarship. I grew up as a boy taking my soccer ball everywhere with me - even to bed !!
 
I played Semi-Pro in England and then after playing 4 yrs of NCAA D2 soccer at the U of Bridgeport, I played for a bunch of All Star teams around the East Coast. Soccer is more special to me than the average Dad in the US :o)

I am always amazed at how many spelling and gramatical errors I read in our local MLS listings.  
My friend Gwen Banta highlights in her blog many that she comes across on a weekly basis.
 
Now when it comes to publications, you would think that the Editors would take extra special care to proofread, so they know exactly what is going to be broadcast to their readers. ... I guess as you will see below their are some who dont see the importance of proofreading !
