Homebuyer Tax Credit Loans Still on Track? - 05/28/09 12:24 PM
Could the report from Realtor.org be true??
"News reports that the federal government is backing away from its plan to permit eligible borrowers to monetize the first-time homebuyer tax credit are off the mark", a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recently said.
Although we are all hesitant to jump on the Realtor.org bandwagon shouting from the rooftops it is appreciated that NAR is keeping us in the loop!  It looks like the talks are not dead on coming up with a program.  Lets just hope that can roll it out before the deadline to purchase.

Speechless Sunday Enjoying our $2.50 purchase at a yard sale - 05/24/09 11:21 AM
I can't believe what $2.50 can buy at a yard sale in North Raleigh.  The baby and I managed to pick up a pool, bathing suit with matching robe, water shoes and toys.  Included in our grand total purchase of $2.50 the seller threw in a free baby doll and black bear just because the baby was willing to take it off their hands.

Improved Jordan Lake Bill Moves Forward - 05/22/09 06:34 PM

The bill that rewrites previously adopted administrative rules to regulate activities in the Jordan Lake watershed was approved by the North Carolina House this week.
The bill (HB 239) repeals the rule that regulates existing development and replaces it with much more sensible regulatory rules.  This is good news for property owners in the watershed, as the original rules had extremely high implementation costs, and would have required environmental retrofits of existing communities, offices and retail development.

Confusion over First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Potential Program
According to the latest announcements HUD is working on allowing home buyers to use the First Time Home buyer Tax Credit of up to $8000 as a soft second mortgage/down payment; although the exact details of the plan are still being refined, this is yet another positive step for first time home buyers.
Shaun Donovan, secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development stated that the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is working on details outlining how they … (0 comments)

Speechless Sunday Picking Strawberries with the Baby - 05/17/09 08:16 PM
I am speechless to see how much my baby girl has grown in the past year.  In less than 12 months she has learned to crawl, stand, walk, talk and say "Love you Mommy".  Each year we (my 12 year old included) make Strawberry jam and ice cream sauce to give to our friends, family and those who send referrals.  This batch is a few berries short since the baby learned to feed herself.

This year we went to Page's Farm on Mt. Herman Rd. just behind the Super Walmart in Brier Creek

It's ONLY A Buyers Market If You ACTUALLY Buy!!! - 05/12/09 08:41 PM

Via SarahGray Lamm ~REALTOR Broker~ 60K Hours of NC Real Estate Experience~ (Allen Tate Realtors Chapel Hill, NC):
My little sister called me the other day and in an excited voice declared, “I think I might need to look at houses…It’s a GREAT time to buy a house right now, you know!”
After the pregnant pause ensued (the one where my condescending big sister brain struggled with my professional Realtor brain) I finally said, “No? Really? What makes you think that?” (You can tell which brain won out.)
“Well. I have a friend who just got a fantastic deal on a house … (1 comments)
