training: Stop Procrastinating and Get to Work! - 05/12/11 07:20 AM
That's right, I said it!  As a matter of fact I've been saying it for at least 15 years (mostly to myself).  I remember a conversation I had with a fellow agent years ago where he asked; "Why do you help everyone and tell them how to do what you are doing?"  Without even thinking about it or realizing how true it would hold up to be I shrugged my shoulders and said "Because most people are never going to do it and those that DO make the effort deserve the help"

training: To Make Money in Real Estate You Need to Invest in Learning, Get Off Your Butt and Just Do It! - 11/08/10 06:35 AM
That's right, I said it!  As a matter of fact I've been saying it for at least 15 years.  I remember a conversation I had with a co-worker of a very large real estate firm when I was 21 years old.  He asked "Why do you always help everyone and teach them what you are doing.?"  Without even thinking about it or realizing how true it would end up being I shrugged my shoulders and said "Because most people are never going to do it and those that DO make the effort deserve the help"

training: My Golden Ticket and Lessons I learned for Real Estate Marketing and Training from Facebook Places and Deals launch with Gap - 11/06/10 12:40 PM
Yes, I got a "Golden Ticket" and a FREE pair of Gap Jeans!
I was one of the first 10,000 people to check into Gap on Facebook Places Friday Nov. 5th 2010 and claimed their Facebook Deal. Earlier this week Facebook announced the launch of Facebook Deals with Facebook Places; a location based application within Facebook taking on FourSquare, Gowalla and in some ways Yelp. Facebook Places was launched in August with little reception. But as always Facebook ups the ante with their newest addition; Facebook Deals.  With Place and Deals businesses can offer deals, coupons and incentives for people to check in.

training: Wordless Wednesday - Should agents or clients learn to keep their mouth shut? - 10/14/09 07:42 AM
As funny as this video is it is also sad to see watch.  I am relatively active in most of the major social media sites and often find agents pushing their services and houses on people in their social network.  As you watch this video think about how important it is to listen and what we could learn if we practiced being Wordless more than just on Wednesday.

training: A Trail of Toast... Tracking your Tweets on Twitter - 10/14/09 06:02 AM
I have to admit that this week Twitter Tuesday had me feeling like Toast.  Not like eating it this week but feeling like it.  So I apologize that as much as I wanted to get the Twitter Tuesday Tip out yesterday I just couldn't get the energy together to do it.  The good thing about being under the weather is that I have had a chance to spend time playing around learning a few more Twitter tools.  As many of you know I wrote ablog a few weeks ago on Tweetdeck.  Hopefully you have had an opportunity to check it out … (10 comments)

training: Tuesday is for Twitter Tips, Toast and Treats - 10/06/09 01:52 PM
Happy Twitter Tuesday!  Tweetlister is the Twitter Treat of the week!
My 2 year old loves Tuesdays.  It is amazing that at such a young age we can get used to routine and expect the same things to occur at the same time.  Every morning when we drive to daycare she tells me what they are going to have for morning snack.  She asks what day is it and I tell her Tuesday.  She says "Yah!" and claps her hands.  The rest of the way to daycare she is is saying "toast" which means she wants french toast.  Apparently they have … (21 comments)

training: Please Help Research! What are agents looking in a Real Estate Brokerage? - 01/05/09 03:09 AM
Ok, activerainers.  This blog is more of a question that I am hoping to get lots of responses to and feedback from...
I was an a recruiter and trainer for large RE/MAX for several years and prior to that owned my own company.  I have been through just about every recruiting "how-to" class out there.  However I feel that things have changed greatly and what agents were looking for in a brokerage has changed from a couple of years ago when all the agents wanted was a nice building to bring their many customers and clients to and a high split.
I … (4 comments)
